House Review
Nose:
Rich, syrupy on the nose. Acrid and loaded with blackberry, currant, honey and toffee. There's no way to label this pour as 'understated'.
Taste:
Thick and rich on the palate, there's a huge hit of ash and minerality before some pepper dives in, followed by a layer cake of syrupy honey, toffee, date fruit, blackberry and a touch of strawberry jam.
Finish:
Long ashy finish, it's acrid powerful and demonstrates the powerful complexity that sherry can bring to a single malt when integrated properly.
Overall:
Astounding, wonderful, decadent, opulent and complex. PX and Islay meet once again in a delightful combo.
