House Review
Nose:
Honey, toasted almond, peach ring, pear, syrupy raspberry and delightful iodine pear slap. Sweet like Dole syrup, lots of character balanced well against some peat.
Taste:
Sweet, powerful and complex. Rich mouth feel, delightful brine, minerality, and peat. Ash, burning wood, dole syrup and strawberry. Excellent evolution. Great structure.
Finish:
Long, syrupy then ashy. Sweet then peaty. Pears, berries, cherry, toffee and oak. Iodine, soapstone, and ash.
Overall:
Incredible. Who knew a Lagavulin could be this good.
Score:
95
