  • This espadín has a good amount of smoke, but does not overwhelm and has just enough sweetness on the front and mid-palate, but finishes fairly dry. A great mezcal that can seamlessly transition from being mixed in cocktails to being sipped neat or on the rocks.

  • Nose:

Sweet, fruity, corn forward. Confectioners sugar, mild clay, some dirty and pepper.

  • Taste:

Thin on the palate - not a ton going on, but it's pleasant. Melon, pepper, faint smoke. ABV feels about right.

  • Finish:

Short to medium in length - sweet, some charcoal and some burning wood. The smoke isn't agressive, and wisps away cleanly.

  • Overall:

Overall I like this - it far exceeded my expectations for a bottling so inexpensive.
