This is an Islay single malt distilled by an undisclosed Scottish distiller and bottled by independent bottler Alexander Murray for Costco's Kirkland line of whiskies. Costco's Kirkland whiskeys tend to be surprisingly awesome, so we're looking forward to checking this one out.
Kirkland for the win. It seems that there is nothing Costco will independently bottle that is not at least a little bit delicious. In this case, it’s greatly delicious.

House Review
Nose:
Sweet honey, rising bread, salty sea air, a big blast of ash and fungal peat, and a hint of pepper.
Taste:
On the palate, it’s sweet and easy drinking. Tons of honey, apples, pears, stewed fruits, vanilla bean, creme brulee and ashy peat.
Finish:
Long finish, this ashy and peaty wonderland is full of vanilla, toffee, caramelized sugar and briny character.
Overall:
Kirkland for the win. It seems that there is nothing Costco will independently bottle that is not at least a little bit delicious. In this case, it’s greatly delicious.
