Kings County Barrel Strength Bourbon is a limited-release offering blended from barrels aged four to seven years, with a proof ranging from 126 to 133, depending on the batch. It is pot-distilled using traditional techniques, with an 80% corn mashbill sourced from Lakeview Organic in the Finger Lakes region of New York and 20% malted barley from Thomas Fawcett Maltsters in the U.K.
There’s much to love about this whiskey, but fully appreciating it requires considerable coaxing. If you have the patience, I think you will enjoy this whiskey as much as I do.
On the sweeter side of the spectrum for me, though the heat is definitely a young, smaller-barrel heat. This does benefit from some air but not as much as I’d like.
