Ki One Tiger is produced by Three Societies in Namyangju, South Korea. Made from malted barley sourced from the U.K., it undergoes mashing, fermentation, distillation and maturation in South Korea. Aged for 13 months in virgin American oak casks, it is bottled at 56.2% ABV and non-chill filtered. It additionally includes sherry and wine casks. Released in 2022 as the first of the Ki One Society Collection, only 1,506 bottles were made.
This is pricey for the age and the small bottle. On the other hand, this is a surprisingly complex and enjoyable malt. I cannot say the same for subsequent releases, but if the first Korean single malt is to see the light of day, a higher retail price might be required to make that a reality.
