Based in Minnesota, Keeper's Heart is known for its blend of American and Irish whiskeys. This, however, is just an Irish whiskey, distilled by industry legend Brian Nation, who spent 23 years working for Pernod Ricard's Irish Distillers. The final seven years and five months of his tenure there were spent as master distiller, a highly coveted position at Ireland's largest distillery. Nation left his job producing whiskey for some of the world's most famous brands — Jameson and Redbreast, for instance — to join Keeper's Heart. This 10-year-old Irish whiskey is aged in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Malaga wine casks.

Sweet and enticing on the nose. Loaded with cream, raisin bread, honey, toffee and a pop of date fruit, blackberry and icing. Really enticing nose. This is lovely stuff.
Moderate palate with pleasant oak and honey right up front. This is nicely layered with some solid complexity. Sweet cream, caramel, raspberry, raisin bread and toffee throughout. Pleasant oakiness works really well here. No ethanol, just sweet dessert and balancing spice.
Long, delicious and delightful finish — easily the best part. Icing, honey, fresh pastries and toffee dance with pleasant oak and tons of raspberry and date fruit character.
Really delicious release from and easily my favorite release from the Keeper’s Heart portfolio so far!
