Each year, Jura hosts the "Tastival" whisky festival at its distillery on the Isle of Jura and releases an exclusive Tastival whisky. This is 2016's Tastival expression. It was aged in three types of sherry cask — Palomino Fino, Amoroso and Apostoles Oloroso — and bottled at 102 proof.

Rich and pungent on the nose. It’s savory, a touch dank, full of wine sweetness and malt character.
Pleasant mouthfeel with a nice viscosity on the palate. Honey, plum, apricot and a bit of dank funk to it — not quite like a peat, but there’s a mossiness I seem to find in Jura whiskies often — leather, moss, sourdough starter.
Long finish. Pleasant and lovely combination of toffee, plum, raisin, cherry, allspice, sourdough and maple.
This is easily the best and most exciting Jura I’ve had in a hot minute. It’s rich, and while unique and full of Jura funk, it’s totally approachable and enjoyable. Nice!
