Bottled at 40% ABV, Jameson Triple Triple Malaga Cask Edition is a travel retail exclusive Irish whiskey triple distilled and triple cask matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, sherry and Málaga wine casks.
I really like this release. If it was available for regular release rather than in Duty Free, I would buy this over the regular Jameson release every time, and that’s a whiskey I really enjoy.
Reminiscent of vintage Irish Whiskies that featured the Whiskey fruit and nuttiness with the light influence of wine casks instead of Bourbon; try this for an idea of what Whiskey was like 60 years ago.
Orange and lemon segments, red apple, caramel, Jell-O cubes tossed in powdered sugar, and background spices make this sweeter and fruitier than regular Jameson, though the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
