  • Rich pipe smoke up front mellowing into sugars, cherries, cured oak, and red grapes. The wine notes start to really come through and a whisp of medium roast coffee.

  • On the palate, this is sweet and fruit forward, and somewhat spicy as well. I’m getting toffee again, with nuts, and very sweet dried fruit/vinous notes, reminding me of the concentrated nature of ice wine.

  • I absolutely loved the aromas - it was like a match made in heaven for me where the standard Jack Daniel’s got a massive upgrade with these richer, sweeter notes filling in the blacks to give a fully-loaded palette of aromas from bright to denser and more rich. The Sherry perfectly complemented the signature Jack Daniel’s profile here.

  • . Additionally, there's a malted milk balls note here which will have you thinking the whiskey is on the sweet side. However, the whiskey is only mildly sweet. The body is a medium-plus feeling in the mouth with flavors leaning towards more of towards dried fruits with a light taste of malted cookies mixed with barrel spices

  • A perfectly pleasant single malt. It won’t blow you away, but it’s a tasty, easy sipper with enough going on to keep you thinking.

  • Nose:

Very malty on the nose. Notes include cinnamon, tapioca pudding, clove and ginger, plus underripe banana.

  • Taste:

Getting that banana note again on the palate, but it’s more of a banana bread vibe. There’s also vanilla, butterscotch, raisins and a roasty coffee note that settles In on the back of the tongue.

  • Finish:

The finish opens with coffee, then moves into banana nut muffins and concludes with a syrupy Oloroso profile that sticks around for a while.

  • Overall:

A perfectly pleasant single malt. It won’t blow you away, but it’s a tasty, easy sipper with enough going on to keep you thinking.

  • Score:

    88
