Isle of Skye 25 Year Scotch Whisky is a blended Scotch from Scotland made with malt and grain whiskies. Aged for more than 25 years, it is bottled at 40% ABV in a 700ml format.
This flavorful gem manages to touch on just about every aspect one could enjoy about Scotch whisky, with the exception of the Sherry Bomb stuff. One might prefer a different balance, but those not-Sherried key and staple aspects are all there. The 25 Year Old is a flavorful and somewhat complex pour, and is certainly worth the asking price.
A heathery smoke is laced throughout, adding some heft to an otherwise gentle body. The midpalate offers up richer, sweeter milk chocolate and molasses cookies before a warm finish of nougatine, espresso, and roasted hazelnuts.
aramel, cocoa and oak aromas lead to deeper toffee and fresh-roasted coffee bean flavors. The long, lush finish shows orange marmalade, almond butter and crushed hazelnut.
