InQuota Amarone Cask Finish is an Italian mountain single malt whisky produced by Villa de Varda in Trentino Alto Adige. Made from high-altitude barley and pure Dolomite spring water, it is initially aged in new oak barrels and finished in ex-Amarone wine casks for about three and a half years. Bottled at 44.2% ABV, non-chill filtered and without added coloring, it retails for roughly €60–70, or about $65–75.
The palate becomes more spicy, black pepper, cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg pave the way for copious nuts (almonds, walnuts, peanuts) over notes of dehydrated coconut, (light) red fruits, liquorice, cereal bread, chocolate and vegetal impressions that lengthen, turning balsamic.
