Hotel Starlino Vermouth Rosso is an Italian vermouth di Torino produced by Torino Distillati in Piedmont. It is made with Italian white wine and Marsala wine and infused with botanicals including wormwood, bitter orange, cloves, orange peel and vanilla. The apéritif is aged six months in Kentucky bourbon barrels, bottled at 17% ABV and retails for about $25.

  • There’s not really any evidence of bourbondom in the mix here, although a light, bittersweet chocolate note percolates on the finish. Deftly balanced, this would stand solidly as the sweet vermouth in just about any cocktail.
