Hoot + Howl Spirits, based in Golden, Colorado, was founded by seventh-generation Coloradan Callan Deline and is led by head distiller Chris Ritenour. The distillery originally operated in Englewood before relocating to Golden, where it uses two Golden Moon stills and a 100-gallon still brought from its original location. Its black tea liqueur, part of the distillery’s initial five-spirit lineup released May 2025, features bergamot peel and undergoes a mellowing process that includes double distillation, heating to 160°F and gradual cooling.
