  • The body of the whisky then shows a soft fruit-filled center. The finish is slightly bitter with spiced dusted walnuts. This would make a great nightcap.

  • The lingering finish initially offers smoky sherry, then dries with licorice and oak.

  • Very fine, rather powerful, but not very ‘polished’. The oak’s spices are a tad loud for my taste. Was that Odin’s personality?

  • The finish is aromatic and dry with prunes and raisins, caramel cola, oak, and peat smoke.

  • Imagine the embers of a dying fire and the aroma it kicks into the room at the end of the night… that’s what Odin drives into the mind and senses as it fades on the palate.

  • It is very good. Damn good. I like it a lot. I'd never spend $$ on this, so this is a real treat.

  • Nose:

Earthy, funky peat. Minearility, some BBQ. Really dirty earth. Sweet vanilla, caramel, toffee, honey. Some stewed fruits, thick syrupy strawberry. Really funky, in a good way.

  • Taste:

Thick, syrupy sweet. Some pepper, honey, vanilla, stewed fruits. Earthy peat, some smoke, savory bbq. Faint iodine. Really aggressive peat for HP, but it blends with the wine notes very well.

  • Finish:

Long, some heat, but complex. Earthy peat blended with syrupy stewed fruits.

  • Overall:

This is Highland Park Odin. Post, you are a generous man. It is very good. Damn good. I like it a lot. I'd never spend $$ on this, so this is a real treat. Now to hunt my final Highland Park wish list bottle - a 15+ yr, cask strength, 100% first fill sherry or madeira. Its out there...probably not. Maybe? But I still want it.
