Highland Park 25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited batch release bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml format. Produced by Highland Park Distillery in Orkney, Scotland, this expression was crafted from 22 casks: ten first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads, two first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak hogsheads, four first-fill American oak butts, five refill hogsheads and one refill butt selected by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion. A bottle retails for around $1,000 as of 2025.
Its flavors are fresh and bright, bursting with citrus peel, sweet orange, lemon zest, and warm honey, leading into spiced orange, sweet berries, apricot, toffee, and milk chocolate, with a lengthy finish of smoke and peppery spice.
Of course it is beautifully balanced in flavor between vanilla, caramel, honeysuckle, orange blossom, pipe tobacco and bittersweet chocolate. But the extra sherry contact does stop these flavors short ever-so-slightly.
Make sure an empty bottle of this is on the funeral pyre as everyone in attendance should be sipping this dram; would wear as a cologne and would drink the whole bottle.
