Produced in Scotland’s Orkney Islands, Highland Park 10 Year Old is a single malt whisky matured in European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks. It rests at 40% ABV.
Well it’s most definitely not a bad dram. It’s almost refreshing to my taste; it has a malty and light mouthfeel. It’s one of those drams that I don’t think could ever be called complex, its more one of those that you could pour and sip and enjoy, but without really distracting you from you task at hand.
Highland Park 10 Viking Scars has the Highland Park character, but in a softer way. It works well as an entry-level single malt, though it tastes like a much younger whisky than a 10 year old. There are some interesting notes but, still, is not as full as you would expect it to be.
