Whiskey War Cigar Cask is produced by High Bank Distillery Co. in Columbus, Ohio. Aged at least five years and bottled at 116 proof, it undergoes secondary maturation in a Brazilian amburana barrel for six to 90 days.

So much amburana on the nose. Tons of cinnamon and fluffy French toast, brown sugar and gingerbread.
Amburana takes a back seat on the palate, which is loaded with clove and black pepper and oak, plus honey buns and raw cinnamon.
Amburana comes back in force on the finish, served up alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some pecan pie.
Despite not usually being a huge amburana fan, I quite like this! The amburana works nicely in tandem with the rye-heavy spirit.
