Launched in March of 2023, Hendrick's Flora Adora is a limited-edition release that seeks to transport the imbiber to the wildflower garden Master Distiller Lesley Gracie planted at the Hendrick’s Gin Palace when it first opened. According to the brand, the 43.5%-ABV spirit is suggested to be paired with soda water, lemon juice, berries and simple syrup instead of the usual tonic. Let's see how it performs on the palate.

  • Overall, this is a cool experiment but ultimately, it's a bruiser that buries the gin character and balance by dumping in an excess of orange and lavender. This is for someone, but that someone isn't me.

  • Even as an ardent fan of floral flavor profiles in gin, Flora Adora is too much of a good thing.

  • The finish sees lavender and dryer sheets lingering just about forever. Maybe something you can use for punch at a Mother’s Day brunch?

  • Nose:

Intensely perfume-y, packed with orange peel, lavender, floral notes out the wazoo. Insane how much floral essence is here, it's borderline overwhelming.

  • Taste:

Sweet on the palate, it's soapy, floral, fruity. Apples, pears, peaches, fragrant soaps and a hint of juniper. It's like a dreamsicle met a bar of soap and a lavender heap. Wow.

  • Finish:

Short finish, intensely orange and lavender forward.

  • Overall:

Overall, this is a cool experiment but ultimately, it's a bruiser that buries the gin character and balance by dumping in an excess of orange and lavender. This is for someone, but that someone isn't me.
