Hemingway Rye Whiskey Signature Edition is a blend of straight ryes finished in rum-seasoned oloroso sherry casks. Released in 2023, it combines 90% 6-year Indiana rye (95% rye, 5% malted barley) with 10% 4-year Kentucky rye (95% rye, 5% malted barley). It is bottled at 102 proof.
And while the taste begins sweet, it turns into a peppery bittersweet finish with baked apple accents. Not quite a whiskey to have for dessert, but definitely would work in a stirred cocktail like an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan.
Exotic and decadently aromatic, this rye whiskey expression offers a good balance of texture and complexity of flavor with a medium to long finish.
