It is blended and canned in Missouri and takes inspiration from the classic Corpse Reviver cocktail, featuring lemon, gin botanicals and an herbal finish. OH! This is boozy. To be expected with a 19% cocktail, of course, but it’s a nice surprise to actually taste the liquor in a canned cocktail, a category that typically relies on malt or wine bases. A great start to the drinking experience. After an initial lemony, spirited entry, the second wave brings ample absinthe notes, with wormwood, licorice, fennel, a little anise and lemon balm. A subtle hint of resinous juniper and fresh lemon juice rounds it out.
The medium-length finish offers more lemon juice, anise and boozy gin note.
This is an impressive little ready-to-drink cocktail with an equally impressive boozy hit. There are two cocktails per can, so, as always, pace yourself and drink responsibly. As a gin and absinthe lover and, naturally, a fan of the Corpse Reviver cocktail, this is a winner. If you already love bold botanicals and tart, complex drinks, this will be right up your alley.
