Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye Whiskey is the distillery's debut sweet mash whiskey, featuring a mash bill of 94% rye and 6% malted barley. Batch #001 is a small batch release of 30 barrels, aged 2 to 3 years, and bottled at barrel strength, uncut and unfiltered.
Fruit-forward with complementary rye spice, the whiskey revels in its playfulness. Its fruit-forward flavor profile is tasty and unique, not to mention surprising considering it comes from a 94% rye mashbill.
A really solid showing from Hard Truth Distilling. Though I'm not someone that seeks out barrel strength whiskeys I find this one to be really palatable, and the overall spice and heat are just what you want in any good rye.
