Coming to us from Indiana's Hard Truth Distilling Co., this is one of four whiskeys released in late 2023 as part of the Barrel Finished Reserve Collection. A blend of three barrels, this whiskey was finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and bottled at 113.3 proof.

House Review
  • Nose:

    Sweet and rich, dessert-heavy and nutty with a touch of cherry, blackberry and graham cracker.

  • Taste:

    Rich on the palate with tons of cocoa, cherry, toffee, pepper and a hint of sweet oak. The youthful character I found in Hard Truth's High Road and Sweet Mash Rye expressions is gone, and this release is singing on the palate. Boozy raisin bread, currants and stewed fruits mingle.

  • Finish:

    Killer finish. Spicy, fruity and full of dessert character with cocoa, cherry cordials and cola.

  • Overall:

    Easily the best Hard Truth I’ve had so far, this PX finish is killer and demonstrates how high the brand's rye can reach.
