Gusano Rojo Mezcal is made from maguey espadin in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, and double distilled. First exported in 1978, it is among the earliest mezcals to include a worm in the bottle. It is aged at least two months in oak and white oak casks and bottled at 40% ABV.
