  • The wheated easily excels Green River's standard bourbon mash, in my opinion, and I'd be caught dead drinking it any day.

  • While it’s a well-executed young wheater, I think I like it just a bit more than the rye-based bourbon.

  • An easy sipping bourbon that won’t break the bank, but also won’t leave a memorable impression.

  • There’s nothing harsh or medicinal to bring down the taste. At the same time, while it does everything well there’s nothing truly exceptional about it.

  • Nose:

Sweet and buttery, full of sweetness, caramel, buttercream, vanilla ice cream and a touch of praline.

  • Taste:

Medium mouthfeel, the ABV is apparent in that it's not punishing, but there's plenty of character. Vanilla, caramel candies, butterscotch, tiramisu, a touch of creme brulee.

  • Finish:

Finish is moderate in length, pleasant but not everlasting. Caramel candies, toffee, honey, maple candies, creme brulee and a pleasant pop of cinnamon.

  • Overall:

I couldnt be happier to see Green River excelling in making classically produced bourbon and now with a variety of mashbills. The wheated easily excels Green River's standard bourbon mash, in my opinion, and Id be caught dead drinking it any day.

  • Score:

    88
