  • I would love to see how it tastes with a little more time in cask.

  • In all a decent, if slightly young-tasting drop, ideal for anyone looking for a less sweet bourbon option.

  • Overall, Great Jones bourbon isn’t terribly exciting but it’s an exceptional start for a brand new producer. They seem to have avoided the lions share of pitfalls that often hamper a new brand, and I greatly look forward to seeing Great Jones continue on their trajectory to become an enviable producer in New York.

  • Nose:

Sweet and perfume forward on the nose: a good deal of honey, lavender, a touch of sesame and some pepper.

  • Taste:

Thin on the palate, but pleasant overall. Not terribly complex. Notes of honey, almond, light oak, some red berries and a touch of pepper.

  • Finish:

Short finish. It’s a bit hotter here on the finish than you’d expect for 43% ABV. Almond, honey, pepper, some toffee and a hint of oak once more.
