Gran Centenario Leyenda Extra Añejo Tequila is distilled in Jalisco, Mexico, and aged for three to five years in new American oak barrels. Founded in 1857 by Lazaro Gallardo, this tequila is made from blue agave that is cooked in stone ovens, crushed, naturally fermented and double-distilled.
Look for aromas of baking spice, pepper, a touch of dried cherry and forest. It's silky on the palate, with caramelized agave, smoky honey, walnut and prominent oak flavors
struggled a bit with the absence of a more vegetal agave element in this tequila, but it’s just too well-balanced and beautifully executed to let that interfere with my appreciation. Plus, the price has decreased considerably since our first encounter. A bargain in extra anejo… if there is such a thing.
