Goslings Spirited Seas is an aged Bermuda rum finished at sea over 59,920 nautical miles. Vintage bourbon barrels filled with a blend of aged Bermuda rums are loaded onto a vessel, where the rum ages for another year while traveling back and forth from Bermuda to the Mid-Atlantic in charred American white oak barrels.
And while it isn't super dynamic, the aroma is pleasant enough. Moving on to the taste, initially it's mostly sweet, but then the tangy and spicy (not spiced rum, but barrel spices) notes help to tone the sweet levels out.
All that rocking on the sip has created a ruddy hue and rich caramel aroma. The plush palate shows plenty of caramel, milk chocolate and hazelnut, plus a fleeting hint of red fruit and cinnamon heat to finish.
