  • This was a really weird one. 9 years is typically more than enough aging time for scotch, but this felt incredibly young, and not even first fill sherry could cover up some strange notes. Not a fan, which is a shame.

  • Nose:

Honey, young spirity ethanol, spearmint and then syrupy sweetness. Musty grain.

  • Taste:

Medium mouth feel, a bit of heat. Young and spirit driven. Plums, caramel, toffee, strawberry and young must. Pepper, some tobacco, a good bit of ethanol.

  • Finish:

Short, hot, loaded with fruits, sulfur and musty youth.

  • Overall:

This was a really weird one. 9 years is typically more than enough aging time for scotch, but this felt incredibly young, and not even first fill sherry could cover up some strange notes. Not a fan, which is a shame.
