This is an IB from Signatory capitalizing on Glenrothes spirit. It is matured in a refill sherry butt and bottled at 46% ABV. It is not colored or filtered.
I think the nose was the best part of this - super complex and inviting. Unfortunately, the thin character of the palate and the short finish really keep it from climbing higher than a 5.
Thin mouthfeel, faint sulfur. NO real heat. Sweet melon, faint sherry notes that are reminiscent of PX. Vanilla and butter cream are pretty prominent with a clover honey note.
Finish:
Short, mildly astringent. Growing sulfur character. Some sweet cherry notes and then its gone.
