The third entry in the Highlands-based scotch whisky distillery Glenmorangie's Cadboll Estate series of whiskies, this single malt features a 15-year age statement and was aged in ex-bourbon and ex-Amontillado casks. Amontillado is a type of sherry — Glenmorangie Director of Whisky Creation Dr. Bill Lumsden’s favorite type. Each release in the Cadboll Estate series is distilled from barley grown in Glenmorangie’s barley fields located on the Cadboll Estate, which is near the distillery.

Fresh bread, sweet pear and apple butter. Flaky pastry, honey and plenty of sweetness and pastry character. Not wildly rich but there's plenty to dig through and enjoy here.
Plenty of tannin but a moderate mouthfeel, mild viscosity, etc. Some pleasant honey, nougat, sweet cream, cereal grain, light pepper, honey and flaky pastry. Light and sweet.
The finish is pleasant, and the Amontillado sherry adds a good deal here. Pleasant creaminess and apricot sweetness pair with consistent Glenmorangie profile, honey and pastry.
This is really something. The palate and finish are notable and far more interesting compared to Glenmorangie's core portfolio. Lovely and enjoyable, the apricot note on the finish is lovely.
