  • Aged just 10 years, Glenmorangie Original isn’t overwhelmingly complex, but it offers so many different flavors — some up front, some subtle — that it’s a definite go-to Scotch whenever I see it on a drink menu.

  • Vanilla and cocoa powder in the lightly spiced finish, which boasts just a hint of smoke.

  • Very decent, just a little light, undemanding and, perhaps, unfocussed. Perhaps a matter of strength as well…

  • Smooth and mellow, like nuts drizzled with honey or Bit O'Honey candy, with a light vanilla finish.

  • The only thing I might use this for is cocktails. I would rather spend a few extra dollars and get a nicer better from them.

  • Just fine, but the Glenmorangie base spirit shows through here with a bitterness I cant seem to shake. A good, inexpensive bottle, but nothing particularly great.

  • Nose:

    Honey, fresh bread, sour apple

  • Taste:

Sweet cream, bitter spice. Artificial pear, mildly lactic. Honey, fresh baked bread, cloves.

  • Finish:

Short, a bit hot, and mildly astringent. Caramel, honey, pears and light fig.

  • Overall:

Just fine, but the Glenmorangie base spirit shows through here with a bitterness I cant seem to shake. A good, inexpensive bottle, but nothing particularly great. I often find myself enjoying this out when I'm at a bar or event with Miller, Bud Light, and Johnnie Red behind the bar and no other good bourbon or scotch in sight. It does great for that.
