Glenfiddich Perpetual Collection Vat 03 is a single malt Scotch whisky aged over 15 years in American oak, virgin American oak and European sherry casks. Part of a continuous solera vatting system that retains a portion of previous batches, it is bottled exclusively for global travel retail.
There’s a bold orange peel quality on the palate that evokes sweet marmalade, soon giving way to notes of jasmine and tea cookies. But that sherry-driven orange quality is what dominates just about everything, fueling the whisky well into a finish which is almost candylike with notes of caramel sauce and vanilla. A little one-note, but a solid experience and not a bad deal.
