I get that they make more money and it’s more “mass-market friendly” at 40% – 43%, but it would be even more robust at 46% and NCF. Anyways, bottom line on the Glenfiddich 14 is there’s nothing to hate on, but nothing to celebrate either.
While this is a fun and enjoyable departure for Glenfiddich collectors, it is probably unlikely to make an instantaneous convert out of most bourbon loyalists.
Toffee, caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon on the palate, while the finish is nutty, with notes of char. The closest Glenfiddich gets to producing a bourbon!

House Review
Nose:
Creamy apples and pears, theres a good deal of vanilla and molasses also. Minor cinnamon spice, but nothing too heavy.
Taste:
Mild and fruity, sweet with vanilla and cream and a mild char. Its not deep or complex but its light and unassuming. I dont mind it, it seems like a great dram for a picnic or for sitting on the porch reading. Despite its lack of depth, it is well blended with everything melding together nicely.
Finish:
Medium and gentle. Not a whole lot here besides some nice light molasses and apples/pears.
Overall:
It's not bad. If it were a couple dollars cheaper, I'd be all over it at the store. For an age stated, 14yr product in US market only, it's really not bad at all but at $50, I'm turning my eyes towards other bottles. All in all though, despite being light and simple, it's a nice summer dram.
