I liked this expression but found it a bit hot and unbalanced. I can only dream of what this would be like after another 5-8 years in the cask, but I bet it would smooth out some of the rough edges here.

House Review
Nose:
Vanilla, melon, apple, buttercream, butter scotch, ethanol. This definitely refill sherry, many time refilled and boasts a lot of sweet, fruity undertones.
Taste:
Thick , hot. vanilla, caramel, toffee, floral fruits, apples and pears, mild sherry. There's a bit more fruity sweetness here and a little more sherry character but the heat is undeniable and a little overbearing.
Finish:
Long, some heat, vanilla, sulfur, apples and pears. There's some roughness here and a bit of sulfur undertone that wasn't apparent in the palate. It isn't super noteworthy, but all the same, it's there.
Overall:
I liked this expression but found it a bit hot and unbalanced. I can only dream of what this would be like after another 5-8 years in the cask, but I bet it would smooth out some of the rough edges here.
