Handfilled at the distillery, this first fill sherry cask expression comes to us distilled by GlenDronach and bottled at cask strength - 59% ABV. [Stock Image]
I want to love this, but it’s unique from GlenDronach’s profile in a way I don’t completely love. The anise and heavy pepper and sulfur kind of leaves me in uncertain waters. It’s very good, but doesn’t leave me swooning.

House Review
Nose:
Powerful orange peel, pepper, cocoa, tobacco, a touch of raisin bread and syrupy date fruit. Pungent, powerful, packed with character. A touch of sour fruit.
Taste:
Rich on the palate. Intensely peppery, chocolate-y, packed with cream and fudge. A touch of sulfur. Bold date fruit, cherry cordials, lingonberry and toffee.
Finish:
Long finish, peppery and packed with anise. Really savory, spicy, a good blend of decadent sweetness and peppery character.
Overall:
I want to love this, but it’s unique from GlenDronach’s profile in a way I don’t completely love. The anise and heavy pepper and sulfur kind of leaves me in uncertain waters. It’s very good, but doesn’t leave me swooning.
