The finish is long, dark, and oaky. Adding some water opens up touches of dried fruits on the palate. It’s not going to be for everyone, but still a unique and interesting dram.
The whiskey is promising and I respect all the hard work and thought given into this project from the comfort of my home. I strongly believe that a few more years will do this whiskey wonders!
The palate again focuses on aggressive wood notes and cloves — lots of ’em — before a modest smokiness comes to the fore. The ashy, woody finish is equally unusual for Irish, as is the relative unbalance.
