This 2010 Single Cask 12 Year Old Oloroso Puncheon was produced by GlenAllachie, a distillery in Speyside, northeast Scotland. According to the brand, Master Distiller Billy Walker handpicks small batches from 50,000 casks across 16 warehouses, using casks sourced worldwide. Selected for Spec's, this release is non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength.

Sweet peaches, plums, figs, pepper, caramel candies, barrel char, oak and a hefty spice component.
A-ha, there it is. Candied ginger is that spice I love. Sweet, spicy, sultry. Tobacco, cherries, plums and blackberries with ginger, honey and a touch of cocoa. Rich mouthfeel, less heat than expected and some great spice.
Long finish. Jammy and fruit forward, tons of cherry, blueberry, tobacco, raisin bread and spicy oak.
This is objectively delicious. A touch spicy and imbalanced but sinfully enjoyable if you love a spicy, ginger forward fruit bomb.
