GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky produced at the GlenAllachie Distillery near Aberlour. Aged in a combination of Pedro Ximénez sherry, oloroso sherry, American oak and virgin oak casks, it is bottled at cask strength without chill filtration or added coloring. The expression is released in limited batches and typically sells for around $70-90.
Despite that complexity it’s not a dominating element of the experience, mingling well with honeyed malts, barrel char, and some baking spice, all coalescing into a remarkably gentle and warming finish to create an altogether enjoyable and engaging whisky.
