Sweet buttercream, bright fruity lemon citrus, musty sea air. The fresh baked bread and maritime is a nice balance given how sweet it smells.
Sweet, thick and rich. Honey, musty paper mache, bright apple. Then things get serious. Charcoal smoke, burning wood, and minerality storm in. Next is some brine and a faint fishy note. The ABV is hard to ignore too - pretty hot, although it's young and north of 60%. Creme brulee and sweet toffee round out everything.
Long, rich and nutty. Almond, brine, ash and more fresh baked bread play all over. Lots going on here.
I really like this. I've yet to have a Scotia this young, this powerful, and entirely ex-bourbon. Stats I expected not to like, but I'm into it. Nice work, Scotia (and SMWS).
