Gibson’s Finest Sterling is a no-age-statement Canadian blended whisky produced at the Hiram Walker distillery in Windsor, Ontario, and owned by William Grant & Sons. It combines corn-based grain whisky with rye and malted barley whiskies. Bottled at 40% ABV, it sells for around C$20 to C$25 per 750ml bottle, or approximately $15 to $18 USD.

  • Wood. Soft and creamy caramel-toffee, but with a slightly hard centre - particularly when you add water.

  • As I expected, the mouth-feel for the Gibson’s Sterling is lightly soft with just a touch of oiliness present. The whisky leads out with rye spices and ginger but underneath those spices is that same light butterscotch I noticed in the aroma.
