Big leather, usual garrison bros vibe, plus graham cracker, cinnamon, gingerbread and a big sweet, syrupy PX sherry influence.
Great viscosity with a good amount of heat. Plenty of PX influence (honey plus dried fruit) layers on top of leather, espresso, cinnamon, nutmeg, basil, tobacco and walnut.
The finish opens with a mix of honey , clove, pink peppercorn, leather and cinnamon, and then moves into tobacco, more leather, clove and pepper.
A fantastic release from Garrison Brothers. I love the way the PX layers on top of the trademark GB flavor profile. It’s classic Garrison with a twist. PX-finished whiskeys tend to be very sweet, and the dry, leathery Garrison bourbon makes for a perfect base that doesn't allow the sherry to overwhelm. This is a well-balanced, excellent bourbon.
