Johnnie Walker White Walker is a blended whisky produced in Scotland by Johnnie Walker and owned by Diageo. Released in 2018 as a limited edition Game of Thrones tie-in, it contains whisky from northern distilleries including Cardhu and Clynelish. The blend carries no age statement and is bottled at 41.7% ABV.
Very well-balanced and engaging from front to back, it’s one of the most ephemeral Walker expressions I’ve encountered to date, and that’s not a slight. It’s simply a very engaging whisky that is well-crafted and highly worth picking up, particularly at its amazingly approachable price (at least until the word gets out).
So, I guess what I’m trying to say is, if you buy this and it makes you happy go for it. For me, I’m dippin out on this one. On the flip side, I will give this another shot and revisit it when I see my friend who owns a bottle. This is, of course, a first glance and it may change and open up like a blossoming butterfly…or it may just suck.
