  • A bit less of a well painted portrait here on this release, the introduction of the Apera sherry tips the scales in sweetness' favor here. A very good release no less, and a strong invitation to try the others.

  • Nose:

Sweet, berry forward. Nutty, sherry driven. Fresh baked bread, toffee, honey, heather, raisin bread, cigar box. Opulent.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate. Syrupy texture, opulent once more. A bit of ethanol here, though the proof is slightly higher than Chapter 1. Black currant, date fruit, cocoa and rich nougat. Powerful.

  • Finish:

Long finish, the heat presents itself here once more, more fiery than the first. The flavor is dialed up, very sherry forward but enjoyable all the same.

  • Overall:

A bit less of a well painted portrait here on this release, the introduction of the Apera sherry tips the scales in sweetness' favor here. A very good release no less, and a strong invitation to try the others.
