Four Corners American Gin is crafted with botanicals from across the U.S., including wild juniper from Oregon, cherry bark from the Southeast, yerba santa from the Mojave and cranberries from Maine. Other botanicals include cascara, blackberry, American linden, prickly ash, black haw bark and elderberry. Priced at $43.99.
If I could sum up Four Corners in four words, I’d describe it as clean, dry, sharp, and sweet: a remarkably versatile gin that’s unlikely to offend gin-skeptics while presenting a unique character that gin devotees will doubtless want to explore further.
The complex palate opens with lemongrass and salted licorice, then fades into dusty dried herbs, notably sage and thyme, plus a final floral exhale. Negroni ready.
The finish is slightly astringent with a twinge of bitterness, but is well anchored by the brightness of the fruit and gets some sweetness from baking spice and wintergreen herbal flavors.
