Found North Batch 012 is a cask-strength Canadian whisky produced by Found North, a Massachusetts-based independent bottler founded by brothers Nick and Zach Taylor. It is an 11-component blend of Canadian whiskies ranging from 16 to 22 years old, built around a 16-year-old corn whisky component finished for 11 months in ISC Cooper's Reserve new American oak. The blend uses a mash bill of 86% corn, 13% rye and 1% malted barley. Bottled at 64.1% ABV (128.2 proof), it typically retails for around $150.

  • This profile is right up my alley with a toasty, decadent, crème brûlée oak-forward profile, an undercurrent of cherry, stone fruit, orange peel, and floral notes, and a generous amount of well-balanced spice.

  • This taste just keeps evolving across the palate. Each sip I think I’ve nailed down the flavors only for them to evolve again. From sweet sugars, almost fresh baked cookies to dark earth tones of wood and smoke. A delicate dance of well matured flavors.
