Forty Creek Double Barrel Reserve is a blended Canadian whisky produced through a two-stage aging process. Rye, barley and corn whiskies age separately in assorted barrels before blending, then undergo up to two years of secondary maturation in Kentucky bourbon casks. It comes in a 750 ml format at 40% ABV.
Mixed in, you’ll find coconut, marshmallow, citrus, and pineapple, with emerging toasted pecan, dried spice, and dusty corn on the finish. Quite soothing and dangerously drinkable. My favorite so far from the various Forty Creek releases.
