Todays tequila review is a release from Fortaleza that features a still strength blanco tequila. While not overpowering, the 46% ABV is well above most 40% bottles. This comes from Lot 4. Let's get to it.

  • This is a great tequila, and the cult awareness comes well earned this is an amazing sipper that also holds up so well in a cocktail, especially in the presence of aggressive citrus. I’m a fan, and a big one at that.

  • A bright, citrusy nose of lime and grapefruit mingles with a whiff of green pepper. The palate takes on more tropical and herbal notes with pineapple, mint, thyme and oregano. It finishes clean with earthy flavors of dark chocolate, mushroom and a tangy hint of tangerine.

  • Fortaleza Still Strength is a delicious pour that does a fantastic job of melding bright fruit notes with earthy, more vegetal ones. The proof point delivers fabulously for those more acclimated to spirits over the 100-mark but, because of its creamy texture and inviting flavor, it doubles as a solid sipping blanco.
