Fortaleza Blanco Tequila is produced in Jalisco, Mexico. The agave is selected for ripeness, cooked in a small brick oven and squeezed using a two-ton tahona stone wheel. Water from the volcanic mountains of Tequila is added, and the musto is fermented for 3 to 5 days. It is then distilled twice in small copper pot stills and bottled unaged at 80 proof.
Considering the price you’d be hard pressed to find many better tequila expressions, and while $50 is certainly not “cheap,” this is a fantastic value tequila that is well-worth enjoying neat.
