Released in September 2025, this is the third and final 2025 batch of Elijah Craig's beloved barrel-proof bourbon. Aged nine years and one month, this is the youngest release in the history of the series, which bore a 12-year age statement once upon a time.

  • For fans of big, uncut Heaven Hill bourbon who love their whiskey sweet, spicy, and unapologetically powerful, ECBP C925 is an easy recommendation and one of the stronger values in the barrel-proof category today.

  • All told, it's still very good bourbon — it just doesn't quite reach the heights this series is capable of.

  • Good, bad, or indifferent, C925 will be remembered less for its flavor profile and more for its age statement.

  • Nose:

Cracker Jack, maple cream, cinnamon, soft oak, vanilla ice cream.

  • Taste:

Silky smooth mouthfeel. That big Cracker Jack note from the nose is here again, joined by custard, fudge, cinnamon, cherry candy, sassafras, graham cracker crust, peanut.

  • Finish:

The finish is long, beginning heavy on spice (cinnamon, cardamom) and then entering dark-fruit territory with fig and blackberry. It closes with flan and sandalwood.

  • Overall:

All in all, this is a nice batch of ECBP that's super light and crushable, despite the sort of heat you'd expect from the proof. It doesn't hit the same dark and rich notes of Batch B525 (my favorite of the year), and it's noticeably younger, with a bit more corn-grain notes coming through. All told, it's still very good bourbon — it just doesn't quite reach the heights this series is capable of.
